SINGLE OF THE WEEK 1: SENSORITES – FOOL:
Sensorites deliver arguably their most commercial and appealing track to date in the happy go-lucky but lyrically bittersweet Fool. Combining their trademark Mersey swagger and some ear-pleasing, toe-tapping melodies it’s a charmer of a song that finds the band attempting not to let a love slip away. Self released on their own record label Hollowhole Records, the track has that feel-good summer vibe attached, as well as a catchy, sing-along feel that is the hallmark of any great rock-pop song. A remix by Us’s Fool Me Twice is also beautifully achieved with use of strings and electronics, while an a capella version shows just how well the song works on its own merits without the ned for instruments. It’s top stuff from a rapidly emerging and hugely likeable band.
